January 20, 2011
Good (normal Iowa) morning,
BOWLING TONIGHT AT 7:00 PM!!!
Let me begin with just a few prayer requests. One is for Pat Angran. She will see a doctor this week to schedule an upcoming heart surgery. Meryle Brown will see the doctor on Friday to schedule his surgery. And Kenna Welch’s little boy has to see a specialist in St. Louis next week.
Starting this coming Wednesday, January 25th, night, there will TWO opportunities for adult Bible studies. Kevin Wiskus is finishing his last classes for college in Ministerial Studies. As a project, he has written what we hope will become a new book teaching Old Testament as a survey class. That basically means it is an overview. If you want to get into the Word of God more, this would be a great class to take to help you become familiar with the Old Testament.
Also on Wednesday nights, Wayne Veach will be starting over with the video/discussion series on the Book of Revelation. The last class was pretty full so we will offer it again. If you missed out the first time, plan to come this coming Wednesday, January 25th, to get into that class.
I have been preaching all month about being in the Word and letting the Word really begin to help us live our lives more pleasing to God. This week I will be preaching about how important parents are in their children’s spiritual upbringing. And on January 29th, I will be ending my sermons on being in the Word with a challenge for us as a church to read the New Testament in the month of February. So right now anyone can get more involved in both the Old and New Testament and learn to dig deeper in the Word of God!! LET’S DO IT!!
Remember, on Sundays, Prayer meetings for men and women at 8:30, Sunday school at 9:30, Worship at 10:30 AND 6:00 PM.
Have a blessed day and we will see you on Sunday.
